The Men Face Off Against Canada on June 15th in Los Angeles
For the first time in the team’s history, Les Matininos have unprecedented success in qualifying for two of soccer’s premier tournaments, the Gold Cup and Concacaf Nations League. The 2019 edition of the Gold Cup takes place from June 15-July 7th across various US cities. Martinique’s first match against Canada on June 15th in Los Angeles will be followed by a meeting with Cuba in Denver on June 19 . The team meets Mexico on June 23 in Charlotte.
The Gold Cup is the precursor to the 2020 edition of the Concacaf Nations League. Martinique’s success in the initial qualifying stages of the tournament led to placement in the esteemed Group A which is composed of the 12 top teams such as Mexico, U.S. and Panama. Beginning in September 2019 the Group A teams will meet up with only one team moving on to the next round.
